Back off my body- and Jessica and Britney's too would you?

I am sick over this whole Jessica Simpson's weight thing. I mean, come ON...since when did the body get put up for auctioned judgments? Noone, nowhere, has the right to comment on YOUR body- it's yours!...not theirs, hello. I can barely even get words out here it makes me so angry. But angry because I'm scared. At what point will this stop? Will the general public and "news" be making decisions about how long my middle toe "should"' be?

This invasiveness, assumed ownership over bodies, especially women's bodies,, is sick, and I'm scared that the general public seems to be in a cultish agreement that doing this is OK.

We wouldn't be doing this if each person, each woman, had a strong idea about what makes her beautiful- NOT ideas thrown about in print and image and flashing lights. What do you think is beautiful? Do you even know what it really is, what it would be had we not been brainwashed? I think its time to define that for ourselves, so that random strangers do not become our mirrors and approval sources.

What do you think?

--------------------------------------------

What is your favorite emotion? What is your least favorite emotion? How might knowing this be helpful?
